For training managers

Your strategies have to survive scrutiny, not sit in a folder.

A training and assessment strategy is a live description of how delivery actually happens. When it drifts from practice, or from the current release of the training product, you find out at validation or at audit — which is to say, too late to fix quietly.

Release history and currency come from the national register, on a schedule.
Version control

When somebody asks which strategy is current, there is an answer rather than a folder.

Versioned and approved

The reality

The documents are fine. Keeping them true is the problem.

You wrote a good strategy. Then a unit was superseded, a trainer left, delivery moved to a blended model, and the document that describes how you train did not move with any of it. Nothing failed — the description simply stopped matching the practice, quietly, over about a year.

Validation is supposed to catch this, and often does. But by then the mismatch has been live for months, and the recommendation lands in a set of minutes rather than in anybody's work.

Strategies and delivery plans

Under document control, against a scope that is actually current.

Training product data is synced from training.gov.au on a schedule, including release history and currency status, so the codes and release status in the platform are the ones that are real. Strategies and unit delivery plans are versioned, approved and dated.

Every strategy and delivery plan carries a review date that is enforced at approval against your organisation's policy, so the question is never whether somebody remembered to look at it.

  • Approval readiness is visible before you submit, not after
  • The assessment register records the tools and methods actually in use

Validation and industry

Recommendations that land, and industry advice you can produce on request.

Validation follows a sampling policy you set once, eligibility is scored as you pick the validator, and every recommendation is raised into the improvement register with an owner and a date rather than filed as minutes.

Industry engagement is recorded the same way: dated evidence attached to the training products it informed. When somebody asks what industry told you and when, that is a query rather than an archaeology project.

  • A stated sampling policy
  • Eligibility enforced
  • External e-signature
